The Hong Kong Green Building Week 2022 (HKGBW 2022), the annual public campaign co-organised by the Construction Industry Council (CIC) and the Hong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC) celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. The campaign, themed “10 out of 10 for Green Building. Carbon Neutrality by 2050!”, will be officially launched on 24 September. To echo this year’s theme, HKGBW 2022 will highlight 10 crucial green building elements, and offers a diverse line-up of activities in which the public can participate and celebrate the 10-year milestone of HKGBW.

As an opening programme of the HKGBW 2022, the “10 out of 10 for Green Building KOL Video Competition” was launched on 14 July and is now calling for submissions until 17 August. It aims to encourage the public to learn about the importance and benefits of green buildings, by acting as green building KOLs to capture the beauty of green buildings and introduce their sustainable features with videos up to three minutes in length. HKGBW 2022 will have more upcoming amazing events, please stay tuned with us!

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of HKGBW, all submissions of the “10 out of 10 for Green Building KOL Video Competition” must develop from a theme related to “10” and “Green Building”, and capture one green building from the ten designated local green buildings. The public is encouraged to act as green building KOLs, capturing the beauty of green buildings and introducing their sustainable features by short videos. Throughout the competition, the public can learn the benefits of green buildings and the importance of carbon reduction. There are no restrictions in terms of presentation style. Interesting videos can help raise carbon reduction awareness and stand a chance to win prizes.

Ten designated Green Buildings

Green buildings have become an integral part of our daily lives in the wake of the CIC and HKGBC’s efforts over the years, including residential and commercial buildings, cultural landmarks and revitalisation projects. HKGBC has highlighted ten green buildings that are not only sustainable but also great places to visit on holiday with friends and family.

Ten Green Building Elements

To further enhance the public understanding on carbon reduction of the green buildings, participants are required to develop the video with at least three of the green building elements and introduce the green buildings to the public in an interesting way.
