Hong Kong, 20 August 2026 – Co-organised by the Construction Industry Council (CIC) and the Hong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC), the annual mega public campaign promoting green buildings, Hong Kong Green Building Week 2026, will be launched this September. Themed "LOOK! Green Building Trace: Everyone Engaged, Race to Carbon Neutrality", this year's event calls on everyone to explore the green buildings around them. Through career experiences, guided tours, and daily low-carbon practices, the public will learn how green buildings inject green energy into urban development and living environments from four major aspects: health and wellbeing, resource efficiency, environmental friendliness, and innovative elements. The brand-new TV advertisement will premiere on 1 September. Celebrities NG Yip-kwan (James) and Traya, together with four green building experts, will lead the way in uncovering carbon reduction clues hidden throughout the city. Following closely on 2 September is the LOOK GREEN! Biz-Green Dress Day, encouraging office workers to adopt a low-carbon office lifestyle with light, professional, and stylish attire. The highlighted public event, LOOK CLOSER! Green Building Fair, will be held from 18 to 20 September at New Town Plaza in Sha Tin, allowing citizens to uncover the diverse facets of green building careers. The LOOK INSIDE! Green Building Guided Tour will lead participants into four green buildings on 19, 26 and 27 September, offering an in-depth understanding of green buildings from cultural, ecological, infrastructural, and artistic perspectives. Registration opens via the online ticketing platform POPTICKET: www.popticket.hk/event/green-building-week-2026. Participation is completely free of charge. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Promoting Biz-Green Workplace Attire; Joining Hands with the Business Community to Foster Green Office Practices with Creativity
The annual LOOK GREEN! Biz-Green Dress Day will take place on 2 September (Wednesday). The event aims to promote light, breathable, yet professional work attire, integrating environmental awareness and carbon reduction into daily office culture. To encourage active participation from companies and organisations across the city, the Organisers are simultaneously launching the LOOK GREEN! Biz-Green Outfits X Green Workplace Social Media Challenge. Companies and organisations simply need to encourage their employees to dress in Biz-Green attire, take photos in a green office environment, and upload the photos to their company's social media platforms between 20 August and 3 September (12:00 noon), showcasing their team's vitality and creativity in carbon reduction. The Organisers cordially invite companies and organisations to participate starting today. Through fun and simple changes in our daily routines, let's work together to pioneer a new trend in green workplaces! Complete Four Missions to Unlock New Green Building Career Skills, Win Limited-Edition Souvenirs, and Create Your Own "Green Building Expert Badge"
LOOK CLOSER! Green Building Fair will be held from 18 to 20 September (Friday to Sunday) at the L1 Entrance Arena, Phase 1, New Town Plaza, Sha Tin. Through career exploration games, weekend-exclusive green workshops, and sharing sessions hosted by green building experts, members of the public can learn about the daily work of various green building professionals while having fun. The career exploration activities feature four missions spanning the entire life cycle of a green building, from design and construction to operation and retrofitting, guiding participants to explore the core elements of green buildings in a comprehensive and engaging way. The first mission, "Green Architect: The One-Minute Challenge", uses AI image generator to access buildings based on BEAM Plus concepts, introducing green building design strategies such as biophilic design, human-centric approach, and energy efficiency. The second mission, "Green Building Engineer: The One-Minute Challenge", incorporates a motion-sensing game to let participants experience firsthand how Multi-trade integrated Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MiMEP) improves site safety, enhances construction efficiency, and reduces resource waste. The third mission, "Facility Manager: The One-Minute Challenge", simulates Internet of Things (IoT) environmental data analysis, demonstrating how smart systems monitor and manage a building's energy efficiency in real time. The fourth mission, "Green Building Experts Assemble", brings to life the cross-disciplinary collaboration behind a building's entire life cycle, inspiring the public to jointly drive progress towards the 2050 carbon neutrality goal.
Upon completing all four missions, participants will receive an exquisite souvenir. Souvenirs include a limited-edition Green Building Captain Mini Digital Camera, a Green Building Buddy-themed towel, or a DIY Heat-transfer Eco-bag. Quantities are limited and available while stocks last. In addition, a photo booth will be set up on-site, offering six green building expert-themed photo frames. Participants can transform into different professional roles, such as energy consultants, engineers, or facility managers, and create their own "Green Building Expert Badge" through an interactive photo-taking experience. After the photo shoot, participants can simply scan the QR Code on their photo to download a digital copy, and enjoy one-click access to the Hong Kong Green Building Council's platform for more information about green buildings.
