Assessing Green Management Practices in your Existing Buildings

With over 42,000 existing buildings in Hong Kong accounting for major proportion of electricity consumption and greenhouse gas emissions, greening existing building stock is an essential part in transforming Hong Kong into a low carbon metropolis.

With over 42,000 existing buildings in Hong Kong accounting for major proportion of electricity consumption and greenhouse gas emissions, greening existing building stock is an essential part in transforming Hong Kong into a low carbon metropolis.

 

To echo with the targets of the Hong Kong Government’s as stated in the Energy Saving Plan for the Built Environment 2015~2025+, BEAM Plus Existing Buildings Assessment Tool V2.0 was launched in March 2016. The revamped version contains major revision in the assessment guidelines, placing more emphasis on green management practices. It also offers larger flexibility in the scope of assessment. The changes have been implemented with a view to encouraging more existing buildings in Hong Kong to participate in the assessment, to improve energy efficiency and enhance environmental management practices of these buildings.

In this seminar, we will introduce the major amendments in the new tool and green management practices that could be implemented in existing buildings. The seminar will also supplement with case sharings of Lee Garden One Offices and Jockey Club Environmental Building on how the property management team engages tenants to implement green measures.
