Limited seats. First come, first served.
Funded by the Environment and Conservation Fund and organised by the Hong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC), this programme enables the general public to hear directly from green building designers or operators, allowing them to gain a deeper insight into the green design concepts and operational strategies of some renowned green buildings.
Programme Highlights:
The redevelopment of Taikoo Place introduced a new urban oasis to Quarry Bay, featuring around 70,000 sq ft of open green spaces with over 260 native and exotic plant species. These enhancements help promote urban biodiversity, facilitate wildlife movement, and connect people with nature. The open green spaces, which include Taikoo Square and Taikoo Garden, showcase a forward-thinking landscape designed by world-renowned landscape architect Kathryn Gustafson.
The tour at Taikoo Place will begin with an introduction to Swire Properties’ vision for sustainable development and the redevelopment of Taikoo Place. Participants will gain insights into the master plan and the benefits for both tenants and the neighbouring communities.
The briefing will also cover the design concept behind Taikoo Square and Taikoo Garden, highlighting the role of native and exotic planting, biophilic design principles, and green open spaces in enhancing ecological value and community wellbeing.
Following the presentation, participants will proceed on an exclusive guided tour of Taikoo Square and its surrounding gardens. The guided walk will offer a first-hand experience of the landscape features and green initiatives, illustrating how nature and the built environment are thoughtfully connected at Taikoo Place.
