CPD Webinar - Integrity Training Workshop for Environmental Professionals and Officers(只提供英文版)

This webinar is organised by the Hong Kong Green Building Council.

Environmental professionals and officers, being one of the key players in building projects, are exposed to certain corruption risks as they are responsible for assessment, monitoring and audit related to energy and environment. To help these practitioners stay alert to corruption risks and ethical traps, and to uphold high integrity standards, HKGBC has invited speakers from the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) to illustrate the common ethical traps in building projects through case sharing.

This workshop aims to:

Raise participants’ corruption prevention awareness

Assist participants in identifying the corruption risks when discharging professional duties

Equip participants with knowledge on how to prevent corruption

Contents of this workshop include:

Professional ethics

Anti-corruption laws in Hong Kong

Sharing and analysis of past ICAC cases concerning the construction industry

Corruption prevention measures for environmental professionals and officers to handle ethical dilemmas and corruption risks

Introduction to the Construction Industry Integrity Charter 2.0

About the Construction Industry Integrity Charter: In March 2021, the Development Bureau incorporated Integrity Management System (IMS) as a listing requirement for the “List of Approved Contractors for Public Works” and “List of Approved Suppliers of Materials and Specialist Contractors for Public Works”, covering about 800 companies. The result is that all contractors undertaking government projects will have to implement an Integrity Policy and arrange their senior management staff to regularly attend Integrity Training. In April 2022, the Construction Industry Council, which is currently operating the Registered Specialist Trade Contractors Scheme, also followed suit and added integrity management as one of the registration requirements for their registered contractors and subcontractors, covering about 8,000 companies. To extend IMS to all construction companies in the industry, in September 2021 the ICAC, the DEVB and the CIC jointly launched an industry-wide “Integrity Charter” campaign to promote voluntary adoption of IMS by construction companies. As of December 2022, over 250 companies have joined the Integrity Charter. In this webinar, version 2.0 of the Charter will be introduced to the audience, helping them to get familiarised with the new elements and the new areas of application.
