Established in 2009, Hong Kong Green Building Council (“the Council”) is the leading body, co-founded by four major construction industry and environmental organisations, driving the market transformation towards green and sustainable buildings in Hong Kong through engagement with the industry, the government and broader community.

HKGBC is expanding its secretariat team in line with its positioning as Hong Kong's leading member-based body dedicated to green building development, with opening for the post of Senior Executive – Accounts:

Key Roles:

  • Handle full set of accounts, prepare accounting reports, monitor project expenditure and report on variances against budget
  • Handle daily accounting duties including reviewing vouchers, supervising subordinates, treasury functions, cash flow forecast, bank accounts operations; process receipts and payments, update accounting records
  • Prepare accounting reports for projects or events funded by external parties and process related claims and reimbursements
  • Manage accounting system including update chart of accounts, maintain analysis codes, input budget and backup data
  • Perform process review & streamlining and system development
  • Assist in implementation of financial control policies and procedures, accounting operational manual, internal approval procedures, conducting training to users where necessary
  • Assist in financial control function to safeguard assets and cash of the Council, maintaining fixed assets register and, safe custody of accounting books and records
  • Liaise with auditors, attend to annual statutory and ad-hoc audit preparation and submission of tax returns
  • Provide general administrative support when required
  • Overall support to Head, Manager and Assistant Manager of Finance and Administration
  • Any other duties as assigned by Executive Director of HKGBC or his delegate


  • Degree holder in Accountancy or related discipline
  • Minimum four years’ relevant experience in accounting works
  • Independent, well organised, self-motivated, detail-oriented, able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
  • A fast learner with logical thinking
  • Good interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Good command of English and Chinese
  • Proficient in using MS-Office, Excel, and knowledge of FlexSystem will definitely be an advantage
