Johnny YU serves as Advisor to the Chairman and Head of the Sustainability Department at Henderson Land. Since joining the company in 2020, Johnny has led the formulation and implementation of comprehensive sustainability strategies to ensure that the Group's operations are environmentally, socially, and financially responsible. Working closely with the Chairman, he steers initiatives that reduce carbon emissions, enhance energy efficiency, and promote sustainable innovations across the business.
With 30 years of multidisciplinary experience in sales and marketing, investment advisory, accounting, tax, and risk management – including senior leadership roles at UBS, Credit Suisse, and Price Waterhouse in both Hong Kong and London – Johnny brings a holistic and strategic approach to sustainability leadership. He is instrumental in embedding sustainability principles into corporate policies, property development strategies, marketing programmes, and digital transformation initiatives, while engaging employees, shareholders, and the community.
Under Johnny's leadership, Henderson Land was nominated by the Hong Kong Green Building Council as Hong Kong's representative and won the Business Leadership in Sustainability Award at the World Green Building Council's Asia Pacific Leadership in Green Building Awards 2022. In 2024, Johnny was honoured individually as Sustainability Leader of the Year and received the Distinguished Sustainability Leadership Award at the Hong Kong Sustainability Award organised by the Hong Kong Management Association. This recognition is testament to his exemplary leadership in promoting sustainable practices not only within the company but also across the wider industry.
