Mr WONG was appointed as the Secretary for the Environment of the Hong Kong SAR Government in 2012-2022. During his ten year service, he led the climate action plans, including the launch of Hong Kong’s Climate Action Plan 2050 which maps out the journey of Hong Kong towards carbon neutrality before 2050.

He graduated from the HKU Department of Architecture. He received further education on sustainable built environment in the UBC postgraduate program in Canada. As an architect by profession, he has been promoting green architecture since 1990s. He served as the founder Chairman of the Environment and Sustainable Development of the Hong Kong Institute of Architects (HKIA), the Chairman of the Professional Green Building Council (PGBC) and the Vice Chairman of the Hong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC).
