Warmest Welcome to Bank of China (Hong Kong) as the Council’s First Platinum Patron Member in the Banking Sector
The Hong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC) warmly welcomes Bank of China (Hong Kong) (BOCHK) to become the first Platinum Patron Member of the Council in the banking sector, and hopes it will lead the banking industry to contribute in the development of green buildings.
BOCHK demonstrated its green vision by launching the first Green Mortgage Plan in Hong Kong last September. BEAM Plus Certification was adopted as one of the application requirements, encouraging property buyers to support sustainable buildings. Through the collaboration with BOCHK, the Council hopes to further promote the development of green finance and lead our city to become an internationally recognised green finance hub.
BOCHK would be eager to drive stakeholders across different sectors to support green buildings and low carbon lifestyle through organising educational events with the Council. Meanwhile, BOCHK announced the expansion of their Green Mortgage Plan to cover all first hand, second hand and government subsidised housing with BEAM Plus Platinum and Gold ratings.

As early as December last year, HKGBC collaborated with BOCHK to carry out educational work on green living and green finance. Ir Dr Cary CHAN, JP, Executive Director of the Council was invited to host a BOCHK e-chat programme with celebrity couples Grace CHAN and Kevin CHENG for sharing green building and environmental messages.
