Reminder - Nomination and By-Election of an HKGBC Director from Institutional Members
The current Board of the Hong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC) consists of 6 seats of Directors elected by Institutional Members (“IMs”) of HKGBC, with each serving for a term of office of 2 years. Recently, one of the seats has become vacant with the resignation of Mr LEUNG King-yin as Director.
HKGBC is now pleased to announce that, per the Board’s decision, a by-election of a Director by IMs will be held to fill the vacancy for the remaining term of office which will end on 31 December 2021.
To enjoy the rights of an IM to nominate a candidate and to vote in the by-election, interested organisations are welcome to join our Institutional Membership with registration and full payment of membership fee made by 16 October 2020 (Fri). Please note that an IM must complete the Institutional Membership Group (“IMG”) declaration in the registration form in order to be entitled to nominate a candidate to stand for the by-election. (According to the Articles of Association of HKGBC, IMs of IMG 4 (i.e. Professional Services Companies or Consultants) cannot make any nomination in this by-election as the current Board of HKGBC already has 2 Directors from IMG 4. These IMs are nevertheless entitled to second any nominated candidate and to vote in this by-election.)
