Call for Content Submission –
Research and Community Engagement Projects

The Hong Kong Report on the State of Sustainable Built Environment 2017 (HK Report) will be published during the World Sustainable Built Environment Conference 2017 Hong Kong (WSBE17 Hong Kong) in June 2017.

Apart from focusing on the outstanding achievement of scientific researches in creating a sustainable built environment, the WSBE17 Hong Kong also addresses the importance of encouraging the people and the community to adopt a more sustainable living style. As such, we are going to showcase some excellent local projects in these two areas, and it is time to share your experience and story with overseas counterparts by contributing content to the HK Report.

The Report
Publishing every three years, the HK Report aims to provide an overview of the current state of Hong Kong’s built environment, showing how the Government, the industry, the academic sector and the community work together to respond to the call for sustainability and shape a greener Hong Kong.

You may refer to the 2014 version to get a better understanding of the Report here.

Call for Project Submission
We are now calling for submission of projects that can fully showcase the conference theme – Transforming Our Built Environment through Innovation and Integration: Putting Ideas into Action in the following two categories:

Research Projects
Any research projects related to sustainable built environment are welcome. Please note that the submission and selection process for contributions of the Report is independent of the paper submission for the main conference of WSBE17 Hong Kong. Project teams are welcome to submit revised content for same projects based on the requirement of this Report.

Community Engagement Projects / Programmes / Initiatives
Projects could be regular activities (e.g. courses, workshops or campus programmes), or large scale initiatives (e.g. campaigns) on one of the following themes:
  • General green building promotion
  • Waste reduction (related to building users)
  • Energy saving
For interested parties, please:
  1. Check the details and download respective submission form at WSBE17 Hong Kong official site;
  2. Prepare the submission of the project; and
  3. Submit the completed form to [email protected] before the deadline of respective section.
