Sun Hung Kai Properties Releases Sustainability Report 2024/25 on ESG Performance and Enhanced Sustainability Disclosure

Sun Hung Kai Properties Limited (SHKP) recently released its Sustainability Report 2024/25, which showcases its progress and achievements in Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) and sustainability during the reporting year.
In pursuit of enhanced transparency and accountability, the Group has prepared this year's disclosures with reference to a broader range of global reporting standards, including the IFRS S1 General Requirements for Disclosure of Sustainability-related Financial Information issued by the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB), and the recommendations from the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD). This positions SHKP at the forefront of evolving sustainability reporting standards.
In response to national and regional climate action imperatives, the Group continues to progress towards decarbonisation. By referencing the ISSB's IFRS S2 Climate-related Disclosures, the Group communicates its climate transition progress through a globally recognised framework. Building on last year's double materiality assessment, SHKP has also deepened its engagement with internal stakeholders to enhance the management of material ESG risks and opportunities.
The Group's commitment to sustainability excellence continues to earn recognition, highlighted by an upgraded "AA" rating in the latest MSCI ESG Ratings. For the second consecutive year, SHKP has maintained its position in the Dow Jones Best-in-Class Asia Pacific Index, the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook 2025 and has been recognised as an ESG Regional Top Rated company by Morningstar Sustainalytics.

Hong Yip Launches "Smart Typhoon Monitoring and Management Platform" for Real-Time Weather Monitoring and Enhanced Customer Safety
In recent years, Hong Kong has frequently been affected by typhoons and heavy rain, resulting in significant losses. Hong Yip Service Company Limited (Hong Yip) places a high priority on the safety of its customers. To address extreme weather, the Company has introduced innovative smart technology with the launch of a new digital "Smart Typhoon Monitoring and Management Platform". This platform aims to establish a 24/7 efficient risk management system, providing comprehensive monitoring and management to help property management teams effectively prepare defensive measures and ensure the safety of residents.
In response to extreme weather conditions, Hong Yip developed the "Smart Typhoon Monitoring and Management Platform" through a three-step approach: "Defense—Response—Alert". Utilising automation, cloud computing, and big data technologies, the smart platform collects open data from the Hong Kong Observatory and combines it with the actual conditions of the properties to provide real-time updates. This allows the teams to respond to typhoon season across three phases, i.e. pre-typhoon, during the typhoon, and post-typhoon, with appropriate preventive measures, follow-ups, notifications, management, monitoring, analysis, and safety assessments. Frontline staff can stay updated on the latest typhoon developments at any time and assist in completing all necessary typhoon defense tasks in advance to ensure the safety for customers.
Additionally, the platform includes other smart features, such as photo documentation, window inspections, and quick checks, to comprehensively record the progress of emergency work checklists. This significantly enhances the team's work efficiency and emergency crisis management capabilities, ensuring property operations remain safe during typhoon events and playing an essential role in addressing extreme weather.

Hong Kong Green Building Week 2025 Concludes Successfully with Strong Public Engagement
Jointly organised by the Construction Industry Council and the Hong Kong Green Building Council, the annual large-scale campaign of Hong Kong Green Building Week (HKGBW) once again brought a vibrant array of activities to the public this year. Echoing the momentum of the 15th National Games, this year's campaign adopted the theme "Green Building Get Set GOAL · Race to Carbon Neutrality" to highlight the synergy between green buildings and the spirit of sports.
Key highlights included the signature programme "Biz-Green Dress Day" and the three-day "Let's GOAL! Green Building Fair", alongside a variety of engaging activities that invited the public to explore green buildings firsthand. These included the "Let's GOAL! Green Transport X Building Tour" and "Let's GOAL! Green Building Guided Tour", which promoted green building and healthy living in a fun and educational way, while also encouraging collective efforts towards sustainable development and carbon neutrality.
Let's GOAL! Green Transport X Building Tour
On 21 and 27 Sep, over 150 participants embarked on a low-carbon journey aboard a green building-themed tram, travelling from Sai Wan Ho to Causeway Bay. Along the route, they explored seven featured green building projects (listed alphabetically): Cityplaza, K11 ATELIER King's Road, Nina Hotel Causeway Bay, Novum East, Taikoo Place, Towngas Headquarters, and Two Chinachem Exchange Square.
These buildings represent a diverse range of types and have all attained BEAM Plus certification, with some even receiving the Zero-Carbon-Ready Building Certification. Throughout the journey, Green Building Tour Ambassadors provided insightful explanations of each project's sustainable features. Participants also created their own "Green Building Tram Map", noting the green buildings they encountered and deepening their understanding of green building concepts and practices.

From 1 to 28 Sep, the green building-themed tram travelled across Hong Kong Island, promoting green building concepts throughout the community. During this period, our "Green Building Ding-ding Snapshot Challenge" received an enthusiastic response—thank you to everyone who participated! Among the many impressive submissions, 10 entries were selected as the winning works. You are welcome to view the winning entries HERE.
Let's GOAL! Green Building Guided Tour
The guided tours made a grand finale appearance on 27 and 28 Sep, offering an innovative blend of green building education and sports elements. Led by Green Building Young Leaders, nearly 400 participants explored four unique routes, gaining in-depth insights into green building features. The tours also offered the opportunity to engage in various sports activities to enhance health and wellbeing, and experience the close connection between green building and everyday life.

The final tour, Innovation Tour, took participants to One North, a hub of Innovative Elements. They visited Sino Inno Lab to explore over 50 cutting-edge products, then challenged themselves on the 8-metre indoor climbing wall. They also toured the Wellness Garden—a multifunctional space that integrates play, relaxation, exercise, and urban farming.
