EMSD and BSOMES - Long Term Strategies for Enhancing Safety and Management of Aged Lifts

Supported by the Hong Kong Green Building Council, the Long Term Strategies for Enhancing Safety and Management of Aged Lifts would be conducted online on 8 October 2021 (Friday).

Lifts are one of the safest transport as they are designed in strict compliance with the comprehensive safety and engineering standards. Following to the development of technology and social needs, these standards will continue upgrading for higher protection to people and property. In Hong Kong, there are about 70,000 lifts and more than half of the existing lifts aged over 20 years old. Long term strategies and possible actions should be taken to enhance the safety and management of aged lifts.  

Co-organised by the Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Department (EMSD) and Building Services Operation and Maintenance Executives Society (BSOMES), the Webinar focused on long term strategies and possible actions for enhancing safety and management of the aged lifts, I&T solutions for enhancing the management of Lifts & Escalators as well as Project Management to maximise benefits of Lift Modernization for Building Owners, Building Management Practitioners and Building Operation & Maintenance Practitioners.
