This event is organised by the Hong Kong Green Building Council.
Thank you for your support! The event is full house now.
Sun Hung Kai Centre (“SHKC”), the company’s headquarter, was built in 1981 and the number of floors was increased from 46 to 53 since 1991 with double-decker lifts for higher capacity. It has remained evergreen and energetic over the years with a series of energy-saving projects implemented.
SHKC received Excellent rating by HK-BEAM in 1999 and the Excellent Class of the Indoor Air Quality Certificate from EPD since 2007. Energy saving practices have resulted in producing over 40,000,000 kWh accumulated, which is equivalent to 32,000 tons of carbon dioxide over the last ten years. Apart from the ISO50001 recognition on energy efficiency since 2012, the progress of achievement was further enhanced with the upgrade of central air conditioning and ventilation systems which is the major energy consumption part in the building. The scope includes progressive replacement of chiller, AHU, Heat Exchangers and optimization of chiller plant operation for better energy performance of both air-side and water-side system. The installation of smart metering system for continuous monitoring of building services system and identifying potential energy opportunities is another key element for ensuring sustainability. Light sensors have been installed and over 90% of the lighting devices are replaced with LED technology for efficient energy reduction.
SHKC recently achieved Excellent grade under Energy Use (EU) aspect of BEAM Plus Existing Buildings V2.0 Selective Scheme.
