WSP Showcased Sustainability Leadership at UNGC’s Event

On 23 July, WSP participated in the UN Global Compact’s 25th Anniversary “Corporate Sustainability Accelerator” held in Shanghai. The high-impact event brought together nearly 90 corporate representatives and industry experts to explore forward-looking approaches to corporate resilience and sustainability, with a focus on energy transition and value chain decarbonisation.

Mr Song LUO, WSP’s Director of Environment in China, joined the expert dialogue session to share insights on the evolving energy landscape. He highlighted the growing role of solar, wind, hydrogen, and nuclear technologies, and emphasised that successful energy transition requires not only innovation, but also coordinated action across the full value chain and robust policy frameworks.

Ms Zoey TANG, WSP’s Principal Environmental Consultant in China, led a workshop on value chain decarbonisation as part of the Climate Ambition Accelerator (CAA) programme. She outlined practical strategies for emission accounting and reduction, including identifying sources, collecting reliable data, and selecting appropriate emission factors. She also addressed common challenges such as data complexity and supplier engagement, and stressed the need for integrated solutions across supply chain management, product design, logistics, energy efficiency, and waste reduction.

WSP is proud to contribute to global sustainability and remains deeply committed to supporting climate action, clean energy, and green infrastructure across the region.
