WSP Leads Smart Energy towards a Net-Zero Future

 
WSP recently hosted a pivotal seminar titled “Net-Zero Future – The Business of Smart Power and Energy”, which focused on critical themes of energy efficiency and green financing. This event served as a platform for industry professionals and innovators to converge and share insights on the latest advancements in building energy efficiency, the transformative potential of artificial intelligence (AI) in decarbonising buildings, and the development of effective financing models to expedite the transition to a sustainable future.

During the seminar, Mr Paul KAU, WSP’s Managing Director of Environment in Greater China, emphasised the essential role of smart energy solutions in realising sustainability goals. The firm’s Regional Power Director, Mr Colin FLEMING then shed light on the significant environmental impacts of energy systems, underlining the urgent need for innovative energy management strategies. A standout feature of the event was the introduction of OneClick, a globally recognised sustainable platform designed to enable clients to conduct comprehensive lifecycle assessments. Introduced by Mr Ronald CHAN, WSP’s Associate Director of Environment, this tool exemplifies WSP’s commitment to leveraging technology to enhance energy efficiency. Mr Alex WAN, WSP’s Managing Director of Smart Solutions and Advanced Engineering in Asia, also showcased the firm’s digital capabilities and success stories, demonstrating how innovative technologies can effectively drive sustainability initiatives across various sectors.
 
 

The invaluable perspective of guest speakers further enriched the seminar— Ms Emily LI from Nam Fung Group and Mr Angus CHOI from KPMG China. They both discussed creating sustainable workplaces and exploring innovative business models that support green building projects utilising sustainable energy. Their insights complemented WSP’s vision, reinforcing the importance of collaboration within the industry to achieve shared sustainability objectives.
