As organisations work towards greater sustainability, one way they can achieve significant energy savings is by incorporating green building features and using energy efficiency technologies and products. 

WELL v2 Certification

In general, green building is the practice of reducing the environmental impact of buildings and improving the wellbeing of its occupants. Intertek, a Total Quality Assurance provider to industries worldwide, is one of the first companies to be approved as a WELL Performance Testing Organisation through the International Well Building Institute (IWBI) and Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI). The company is therefore authorised to provide independent, third-party verification for building projects pursuing WELL certification. WELL certification uses a performance-based system to verify that a facility meets certain standards and criteria through testing and measurement. As awareness of the importance of wellness in buildings increases, WELL-certified buildings are becoming an important tool for promoting quality indoor environments.

Intertek’s team of experts provides WELL Performance Testing services, supported by a multidisciplinary team of WELL Accredited Professionals (WELL APs) and WELL Performance Testing Agents who quickly and accurately assess projects, work with GBCI reviewers and help the projects to achieve WELL v2 Certification.

Successful Case – Two International Finance Centre

 

 

 

Intertek proudly supported Two International Finance Centre (Two ifc) in Hong Kong to achieve the prestigious WELL Performance Rating, rigorously evaluating a range of key environmental quality metrics across a total area of 185,400 square meters. This included meeting thresholds for adequate ventilation; verifying water quality indicators; providing appropriate lighting for day-active people; managing relative humidity; limiting background noise levels; and installing indoor environmental monitors. Two ifc successfully achieved a total of 21 features that comprehensively address not only the design and operations of buildings, but also impact and influence human behaviours related to health and wellbeing, demonstrating its commitment to creating a sustainable, high-performance environment for its occupants.
