SPL Lighting is going to host a seminar - The Future of Solar Lighting: Latest Technology, Integration and Implementation

Changes in climate may inevitably affect where and how humans, plants, and animals live. In light of that, the Hong Kong Government has announced a goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. It incrementally leads corporations to focus their attention on the massive sources of the clean energy solutions that surround us in nature. With the limitation of space, solar energy emerges as the most valuable sustainable energy source in Hong Kong.

SPL Lighting will host a seminar titled “The Future of Solar Lighting: Latest Technology, Integration and Implementation” on 5 August 2022 in InnoCentre. A thought leader and an industry expert will share the latest solar technology with their insights, and how a solar lighting solution integrates with an innovative management system.

Speakers Highlights

Topic: New Generation Flexible Solar Cell Technology for Building-Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV) Applications

The Hong Kong Government has set an ambitious goal of reaching carbon neutrality by 2050, in which the increased solar energy deployment is a critical cornerstone in its overall planning. To tackle this great challenge, the City University of Hong Kong has identified the printable, flexible, semitransparent, and color-tunable organic solar cells as a prominent PV technology to promote solar energy deployment in Hong Kong. Such a new generation of solar cell technology can be integrated as tinted solar windows, façades, or curtains with buildings to generate significantly more solar electricity in an urban city, which usually has limited lands and rooftops for installing conventional SI solar panels.

Topic: Optimizing Energy-Saving Efficiency of Solar Lighting via an Integration System

Most landscape solar lights lack systematic methods to manage and optimise the performance of individual devices. Thus, the speaker will introduce the new solar lighting management system, Solgenix™ which can enhance the efficiency of each solar light by real-time monitoring and controlling them remotely. He will be sharing how each solar light communicates its data with Solgenix™ individually and how Solgenix™ interprets the data on a dashboard. Lastly, he will share his experience through some of SPL Lightings’ project references in Hong Kong to illustrate how it helps their clients achieve energy savings.
