[Chinachem Group] Two developments recognised for promoting sustainable built environment

Two projects of Chinachem Group are featured in "The Hong Kong Report on the State of Sustainable Built Environment 2020" which is co-published by Construction Industry Council and Hong Kong Green Building Council. The Report has been launched on 2 November 2020 in parallel with the opening of the renowned World Sustainable Built Environment Online Conference 2020. The Report showcases One Hennessy and the residential project at Anderson Road as among Hong Kong’s top-notch sustainable building projects and case studies.

Chinachem Group’s One Hennessy is a LEED Platinum-certified green office tower. Viewed from the street, the building’s dramatic funnel shape at the bottom of the tower was designed for more than just architectural flair. The funnel facilitates natural lighting and ventilates airflow onto the street level to avoid heat traps and disperse pollution. To mitigate the heat island effect, the rooftop is covered with low absorptive materials and vegetation. In addition, bike racks and electric car chargers were also installed for building’s users, thereby promoting a sustainable lifestyle.

The residential project at Anderson Road is a pioneering age-friendly development. Community planning allows people of different backgrounds, abilities and ages to obtain the resources and opportunities they need, promotes respect among people, maintains the diversity of the community, and enhances residents’ happiness and satisfaction.

These two projects reflect Chinachem Group's commitment to sustainable development and building Hong Kong into a more liveable city.
