Market Transformation Towards Green Building

Synopsis : 
Given its high density urban form, Hong Kong can take lead in demonstrating the lifestyle of an Eco-city. Towards such aspiration, Hong Kong needs to urgently map out a market transformation blueprint that will effectively change the mainstream practice with a view to reducing our ecological footprint while enhancing our urban livability.

Graduated from the University of Hong Kong in the 1980s, KS furthered his research study under the mentorship of Professor Raymond J Cole in the Environmental Research Group of the UBC School of Architecture, Canada, in the 1990s. He was the founding chairman of the HKIA Committee of Environmental and Sustainable Development and is currently the Vice-President of HKIA. Since the establishment of the Professional Green Building Council (PGBC) in 2002, he has been serving as a PGBC Council Members; and currently acts the Chairman. KS is also a founding committee member of the Hong Kong Green Building Council.

In practice, KS is a registered architect with more than 20 years of experience. He is now associated with Ronald Lu & Partners in the capacity of Director + Director of Sustainable Design, with a wide spectrum of projects to integrate the principles of sustainable design in master planning, new construction, urban regeneration and research studies.
