An experienced Chair and Director of both commercial and not-for-profit boards, Tanya Cox is a property expert with a passion for sustainability.

As the Chief Operating Officer of DEXUS Property Group (then A$17 billion) for more than a decade, Tanya oversaw all operational aspects of the business, including: corporate responsibility and sustainability, marketing and communications, information technology, operational risk management, corporate governance and company secretarial practices.

Ms COX has more than 15 years’ experience as a non-executive director on boards as diverse as the Australian Paralympic Committee, Cricket NSW Advisory Board and Music & Opera Singers Trust. She is currently Director of a number of ASX-listed and unlisted companies, including Chair of the World Green Building Council and a Director of the Green Building Council of Australia.

As a member of the Board and Investment Committee of Low Carbon Australia from 2010 to 2014, Ms COX oversaw investment of the federal government’s A$100 million finance of carbon reduction technologies. She was also a member of the NSW Climate Change Council from 2013 to 2021.

Tanya is a fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Governance Institute of Australia and a member of the St James Ethics Centre. She holds an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management, a Diploma in Applied Corporate Governance and was a finalist in the 2005 NSW Telstra Business Woman of the Year awards.

Tanya Cox joined the WorldGBC Board of Directors in 2016, nominated by Green Building Council of Australia and has been the WorldGBC Chair since July 2020.
