Ir Raymond POON

Ir Raymond POON is the Deputy Director of the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department. He oversees the enforcement of legislations in ensuring public safety on using electricity, gas, railway and other electrical and mechanical installations, and promoting energy efficiency and conservation as well as application of renewable energy in Hong Kong.
Ir POON has been working in the government for over 25 years and taken up professional and managerial roles in the areas of engineering services, project management, business development as well as regulatory enforcement. Ir POON received his Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Master of Science degree in Environmental Management from the University of Hong Kong. He has also obtained his EMBA degree from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2019.
Ir POON is a fellow member of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) and he acted as the Chairman of the HKIE Biomedical Division in Session 2017/18, Member of HKIE Council in Sessions 2018-2020. He is now serving as a Member of the HKIE Fellowship Committee.
