[Exclusively for HKGBC Members] Trip to Singapore - Let’s Learn, Engage, and Foster Green Building Development!

The HKGBC is organising a trip to Singapore during 3 to 7 September 2018 exclusively for our HKGBC Members.

Come join us and explore together the leading-edge technologies in the cosmopolitan city-state of Singapore – a hotbed of green building design and innovation.

Date:   3-7 September 2018 (Mon-Fri)
 
Visiting Country:   Singapore
 
Capacity:   30 (Priority will be given to HKGBC Patron Members.)
 
Tour Fee on 3 & 4 September:   Free of charge for HKGBC Members
   

HKGBC will provide:

  • Tour arrangement on 3-4 September
  • Local transportation between the tour locations on 3-4 September
  • Lunches on 3-4 September
  • Networking Cocktail or Dinner on 3 September (TBC)
    • Delegate needs to pay a refundable deposit of HK$1,000 to secure the seat. The deposit will not be refunded if the delegate is absent from the trip.
    • Delegates have to take care of their own flight and accommodation arrangements.
Conference Registration Fee from 5 to 7 September: (Optional)
 
  A special rate S$600 per person will be offered to HKGBC Delegation

Registration Procedure:  
  1. Complete the online registration form by 20 July
  2. Delegate will be contacted to pay a refundable deposit of HK$1,000 to secure the seat. The deposit will not be refunded if the delegate is absent from the trip.
  3. Delegate to settle deposit to confirm participation
  4. Delegates have to take care of their own flight and accommodation arrangements

3 September 2018 (Mon) – Day 1

Green Building Technical Visits – Smart Buildings
 
Join the technical visits to understand how energy-efficient building technologies and materials could be applied to the construction of smart buildings in a tropical built environment. It will also be an excellent opportunity to meet government officials and industry stakeholders in Singapore to know more about their master plan and perspectives on green building solutions.

  • BCA presentation
    • Presentations on the latest green building initiatives of BCA such as virtual design and construction projects, design for manufacturing and assembly, cross laminated timber construction and prefabricated prefinished volumetric construction projects
  • Visit to BCA Academy’s Academic Tower
    • Mix of existing experiential and test-bed facilities at the Academy
    • Rooftop education deck with a functional energy efficient chiller plant, life-size graphics on Universal Design and a dedicated outdoor air dual wheel system
  • Visit to Zero-Energy Building
    • The first Zero Energy Building (ZEB) in South-east Asia retrofitted from an existing building
    • Test bed for integration of Green Building Technologies (GBT) in existing buildings
  • Visit to Skylab
    • Collaboration with the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in California
    • 360-degree rotatable capability
    • Network of more than 200 sensors with high accuracy and granularity
Afternoon__ Led by Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA)
  • Jurong Lake District (JLD) presentation
    • Presentations on their master plan to transform JLD into Singapore’s second central business district and a smart and sustainable district for the future
  • Strategy Planning Group and SLA/GIS for Virtual Singapore
    • Dynamic 3D city model and collaborative data platform, including the 3D maps of Singapore
    • Visualisation of the effects of constructing new buildings or installations for urban planners
  • Visit to Singapore City Gallery, The URA Centre
    • Informational hub and gallery for the public and professionals to appreciate city planning, urban development and architecture

Green Building Technical Visits – Sustainable Infrastructure

Green infrastructure is one of the most crucial components of a sustainable community. Join us on the second day of the trip to experience iconic exemplars of sustainable infrastructure in Singapore and share your views with industry stakeholders.

    • Presentations on HDB’s latest achievement in environmental sustainability such as Punggol Waterways, EcoTown and Smart Hub, etc.
  • Visit to Centre of Building Research
    • HDB’s Master Laboratory
    • R&D initiatives focusing on energy, urban greenery, living environment, waste & water and building technology
  • Eco tour
    • Treelodge@Punggol: Singapore’s first eco-precinct, a BCA Green Mark Platinum Award-winning project.
    • My Waterway@Punggol: Singpore’s largest man-made waterway, which has won numerous accolades, including the Grand Prize for Excellence in Environmental Engineering.
Afternoon__ Visit to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital
  • The first hospital to win the BCA Universal Design Gold Award
  • Unique structural layout designed to provide up to 70% of the floor area with natural ventilation while reducing energy costs by as much as 50%
