Job Description
Responsible for overall coordination and management of a 3-year territory-wide Kindergarten Enhancement Project (the “Project”) executed by HKGBC and funded by the Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) Charities Trust, including progress, quality, cost and client relationships. Tentative commencement date of the Project is 1 March 2026. The Project aims to equip around 135 kindergartens with nature-based learning facilities including aquaponics equipment, planter boxes, fish tanks, sand and water play equipment, mural arts, moss walls, upcycled wood furniture and real-time IAQ monitors, etc.
- Manage the procurement and tendering process
- Vet submittals of suppliers and contractors and ensure supplies and installation works comply with the Project requirements
- Manage and supervise the work of Project Team members
- Liaise with external parties, including kindergarten staff, suppliers, contractors, the project sponsor (Jockey Club) and project partner (Vocational Training Council – Child Education unit)
- Responsible for budget and expenses control, commercial and technical matters
- Derive and manage a nature-based kindergarten labelling scheme, including facilities verification and assessment
- Act as the Secretary to the relevant vetting panel for allocation of funding to each kindergarten
- Prepare regular reports to the Hong Kong Jockey Club
- A Bachelor’s degree in the field of Construction, Engineering, Environmental or related disciplines
- Preferably 8 year’s relevant experience in project management, procurement and tendering, management of sub-ordinates and contractors, as well as liaison with clients
- Preference would be given to candidates with experience in building renovation/A&A works, or interior fitting-out works
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent command of English and Chinese

- Participating in site inspection, supervision, testing and commissioning of existing building facilities for identifying on-site improvement opportunities such as natural based solutions and tuning of building automation, etc.
- Organising site meeting, conducting site appraisal and coordination works for site measurement and information/data collection in related to on-site tuning and minor modification works where necessary.
- Supervising building operators and contractors for carrying out on-site installation, commissioning and quick-fixed retro-commissioning works.
- Conducting on-site re-commissioning/trail test, performing IAQ and ventilation assessment, preparing design sketches, location drawings of facilities, producing records and findings for facilitating the measurement and verification of the one-site improvement opportunities.
- To engage with relevant internal and external stakeholders such as members, government departments, professional institutions, NGOs, research institutions for partnerships and execution of projects / programmes.
- To assist in preparing instrumentation/equipment procurement and report on procurement needs.
- To assist in identifying, preparing and developing requirements for funded project under Industry Practices and Research department.
- A good Bachelor’s degree or above in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Science Engineering or Built Environment or equivalent engineering discipline.
- Preferably with 3 years' post-graduate working experience in building facilities (e.g. HVAC, green features, etc.) that related to retrofitting and commissioning works of existing buildings.
- Candidate who works as engineering operators in facilities / properties management with strong on-site A&A works expertise (e.g. minor retrofitting / commissioning works), operation management skills, ability to prioritise tasks and with a high level of technical proficiency will be an advantage;
- Be able to work both independently and in a team, with good interpersonal, presentation and communication skills;
- General command of spoken English and Mandarin, and written English.
