Mr Franklin YU
Singular Studio Limited
Mr Franklin YU is the Founder and Director of Singular Studio Limited, an award-winning architectural firm. Having practiced architecture for over 25 years, he has designed and managed numerous projects, including residential buildings, offices, hotels, shopping arcades, research and education, religious and cultural, and leisure and municipal buildings. He is a Fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Architects (HKIA) and a Founding Member and Fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Urban Design (HKIUD). He is also an Authorized Person, a Registered Architect, and a BEAM Professional (NB EB ND BI).
Passionate in public and community affairs regarding the built environment, Mr YU actively serves on boards and committees of the Government and professional institutes. Mr YU is/was a Member of the Town Planning Board, the Land and Development Advisory Committee, the Appeal Tribunal Panel (Buildings), the Building Committee and Tender Committee of the Housing Authority, and a Director of the Professional Green Building Council and the BEAM Society. He is also a Director of the Hong Kong Sports Institute, a Board Member of the Pneumoconiosis Compensation Fund Board, and a Council Member of the Hong Kong Institute of Architects and the Hong Kong Institute of Urban Design.
Mr YU has also served as a Member in the Harbourfront Commission, the Authorized Persons, Registered Structural Engineers and Registered Geotechnical Engineers Committee (APSEC), and the Advisory Committee on Barrier Free Access (ACBFA). He was Vice President of the Hong Kong Institute of Architects, and the Chair of HKIA’s Board of Practices, Board of Local Affairs and Board of External Affairs.
