Sr Frankie SO Hung-fai

Sr Frankie So obtained a Higher Diploma in Building and Surveying from the Hong Kong Polytechnic in 1975. After graduation, he worked for 3 large quantity surveying firms and was qualified as a Chartered Quantity Surveyor in 1980. His work experience covered pre and post contract services for building and civil engineering works in both private and public sectors.
He left a QS firm as an Associate Director in 1988 and worked for his alma mater, the Hong Kong Polytechnic as the Associate Director of the Estates and Development Office (formerly known as Senior Assistant Estates Officer). His scope of works included, amongst other things, cost control of capital projects and maintenance works, office administration and management of utilities. He changed his job in 2002 as a Space Manager involving space allocation, space planning and space monitoring of the entire university. He has been the Head of Management Information and Support Office since 2005. Frankie retired from PolyU in 2014. Since then, he also worked for a property management company and an architectural firm as an estates manager (maintenance) and a quantity surveying officer respectively. He is now a director of LESK Solutions Co., Ltd.
Frankie is a Founding Member of Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors, a Member of Quantity Surveying Council of HKIS in 1991, the President of HKIFM 2003/04, Panel of Experts for Course Accreditation of HKIS 2009/2011 and the Chairman of FM Professional Group Committee of RICS HK 2009/2013. He was the Nominated Director of BSL in 2012 and an Elected Director of BSL 2013/2020. He is the 2nd Vice Chairperson of BSL 2020/2022.
