Ir Dr Bruce CHONG is a Fellow and Director at Arup, leading City Advisory, Climate and Urban Sustainability services in East Asia. He has established a centre of excellence for climate modelling, making resilience quantifiable and actionable for organisations to plan for a net-zero future.

With expertise in decarbonisation, climate resilience, smart cities and urban informatics, Bruce has supported renowned international organisations including the World Bank, IFC, ADB, APEC and EMF on climate adaptation, sustainable infrastructure and circular economy initiatives. He recently launched the Asia Corporate Coalition for Climate Resilience (A4CR), advising influential businesses in the region on effective strategies to address climate change impacts and future-proof their assets and operations.

Bruce has led numerous transformative projects such as global decarbonisation efforts for MTR Corporation, a comprehensive study on super-typhoon in South China, Hong Kong’s first pilot smart city district with the latest 3D city map, and advising companies on climate-related financial disclosure according to TCFD.

A Cambridge Overseas Scholar and Research Fellow at Sydney University, Bruce is a fellow of ICE, IET, CIBSE and HKIE. He actively contributes to industry-wide progress, such as the Smart Green Resilient framework, which has been adopted by the Hong Kong government in strategic planning projects.
