Ir Prof. Andrew YOUNG has extensive executive experience in senior management, operational management, start-up and investment fund, management consulting and R&D commercialisation. His diverse work experience covers many industry sectors including electronics, ICT, green technology, biotechnology and others.
Ir Prof. YOUNG is a Managing Partner & Senior Advisor of IPG Capital fund, a specialist sustainability technology investment and advisory fund. He is an Independent Non- Executive Director of Ficus Technology Holding Ltd, a listed company on Hong Kong Stock Exchange (SEHK: 8107). He was formally Head of Innovation and Associate Director (Innovation) with Sino Group (SEHK: 0083).
Ir Prof. YOUNG has a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) degree, Graduate Diploma in Business Administration and MBA from University of South Australia. He is a Fellow of Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, a Chartered Professional Engineer and member of the Institutions of Engineers Australia. He is an Adjunct Professor with The University of Hong Kong and the City University of Hong Kong.
He serves in University and departmental advisory capacity with The University of Hong Kong, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, the Baptist University of Hong Kong, The Education University of Hong Kong and Vocational Training Council.
He is a Member of The Sixth Election Committee of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), 2021-2026, Member of Construction Industry Council (CIC) of Hong Kong, Chairman of the Hong Kong Automation Technology Council and Member of the Hong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC) and Member of Committee on Self-financing Post- secondary Education (CSPE), Education Bureau of HKSAR. He is awarded the Chief Executive’s Commendation for Community Service award as announced in the 2025 Honors List of the HKSAR Government, on 1 July 2025.
