BEAM Plus Project Assessment
BEAM Plus, the comprehensive environmental assessment scheme recognized by the Hong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC), has been officially launched since 1st April 2010.
BEAM Plus Version 1.2 for New Buildings and Existing Buildings is an enhanced from the earlier version in providing Passive Design as an alternative method for assessment. Online Registration is available from 8th November 2012. Until 31st December 2012, project applicants can choose either BEAM Plus Version 1.1 or BEAM Plus Version 1.2 for assessment. From 1st January 2013 onwards, only BEAM Plus Version 1.2 will be available for BEAM Plus Project Registration.
BEAM Plus Interiors is a new assessment tool targeting for fit-out, renovation and refurbishment projects of non-domestic, occupied spaces specifically for Hong Kong. The draft manual of BEAM Plus Interiors is now available for preview. The new tool will be officially launched in second half of 2013.
Applicants are invited to initiate their project registration under BEAM Plus through the HKGBC via the BEAM Plus Online Registration Form. Upon receipt of the application, HKGBC will entrust the BEAM Society to follow up with the applicants for fee submission and assessment process. The certificate will be issued to the respective project by the HKGBC upon successful assessment.
BEAM Plus assessment scheme continues to evolve after the release date. Updates through the 'Technical Clarifications and Credits Interpretation Requests' are an essential component that helps to enhance the BEAM Plus Assessment Scheme for both new buildings and existing buildings.
