How to become a BAS
To enable that we have sufficient BAS to support the project assessment through BEAM Plus, HKGBC launches the recruitment of BAS through opening the expression of interest (EOI) to the local industry from time to time.
Eligible candidates should submit the EOI to HKGBC during the period of EOI invitation. The EOI form can be downloaded HERE. Upon the receipt of the applications, the following steps will be taken:
A Selection Panel involving representatives from both HKGBC and BEAM Society will verify the qualification, experience, competence and appropriateness of the candidates.
The selected candidates will be notified to attend a 1-day benchmarking workshop to enhance the familiarization with the BEAM Plus assessment procedures and process.
Professional Assessment Part 1: Written Paper
After the workshop, the candidates will have to attend a half-day Professional Assessment involving written questions which simulate case assessments.
Professional Assessment Part 2: Interview
With reference to the answers to written paper, the Examination Panel will interview the candidates (about half hour each) and then recommend the respective accreditation, including the accredited aspects of individual BAS.
Please note that candidates shortlisted by the Selection Panel will be required to pay a training and examination fee to HKGBC. The fee is HK$4,000 per candidate for BEAM Pro or HKGBC members (since Nov 2009), including employees of companies that hold Institutional Membership of HKGBC; or Members of BEAM Society who joined before 1 Apr 2010 (either Individual Members or employees of Corporate Members). For others, the fee is HK$6,000 per candidate. Paid fee will not be refundable regardless of result of Professional Assessment.
