Green Building Labelling
BEAM Plus green building rating system has been endorsed by Hong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC) since April 2010. The official launch of the BEAM Plus Version 1.1 and the training of BEAM Professionals (BEAM Pro) have been introduced to the industry since April 2010. In November 2012, the BEAM Plus Version 1.2 for New Buildings and Existing Buildings is available for formal registration.
We are delighted that the BEAM Plus green building label, Hong Kong's comprehensive environmental assessment scheme recognized by the Hong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC), is officially launched on 1st April 2010.
BEAM Plus Version 1.2
The new version of BEAM Plus Version 1.2 for New Buildings (NB) and Existing Buildings (EB) introduced a holistic component of Passive Design for residential development as an alternative method for assessment. To add clarity to the assessment and its requirements, minor amendments are also made in BEAM Plus Version 1.2.

BEAM Plus Version 1.1
The BEAM Plus for New Buildings and Existing Buildings have been launched since November 2009. Support and feedbacks from stakeholders on the BEAM Plus criteria have been received for the past few months. The BEAM Faculty has reviewed the feedbacks which are consolidated as minor refinements to the assessment criteria. The new BEAM Plus Version 1.1 (April 2010) now replaces the previous BEAM Plus (November 2009). Credit changes are summarized in the “Document Control” page within the two documents for easy reference.

BEAM Professionals (BEAM Pro) are responsible to integrate the principles of green building and facilitate the process of BEAM Plus certification. The training for BEAM Professionals has been launched since April 2010.
Lastly, applicants can register their projects under BEAM Plus directly through the HKGBC / BEAM Society websites. An updated BEAM Plus certification fee structure shall be announced in due course.
