HKGBC Green Building Faculty

To become a Member of Green Building Faculty (GB Faculty), one has to demonstrate the ability to meet the minimum requirements under Part A and additional criteria shown on Part B.  Candidates who have demonstrated experience and track record on Part C would be considered favourably.

Part A – Basic Criteria 

Candidate must fulfill the following requirement:

  • Accredited BEAM Pro status; or minimum academic and professional qualifications satisfying the requirement of BEAM Professional (BEAM Pro).

Part B – Additional Criteria

Candidate has to further fulfill either one of the following criteria:

  • Minimum fifteen (15) years of relevant post degree (or equivalent) working experience, or
  • Previous BEAM Faculty membership with recognised contribution.


Part C – Preferential Criteria

Priority will be given to candidate who meets one of the following requirements:

  • Experienced in the leading or training of at least one of the aspects of Site, Material, Energy, Water, Indoor Environmental Quality, Operation Maintenance, Innovation and Addition, and other relevant aspects under the BEAM Plus; or
  • Have exemplary project/research/teaching experience demonstrating close relevance to the above subject aspect(s); or
  • Have past contribution to the works of HKGBC and/or BSL.


Important Note

HKGBC has the full and final discretion to appoint the faculty members with a view to having a balanced mix and reasonable group size of professionals and experts for each panel, while some faculty members may support more than one panel if considered appropriate by HKGBC.

Expertise Areas

Green Building Faculty members should be specialised in the following six (6) areas: Site Aspects, Materials Aspects, Energy Use, Water Use, Indoor Environmental Quality, and Innovation & Addition.

Please indicate which of the Panels (at least 1 but not more than 2) you consider joining, and prioritizing your preference from 1 to 3.

Besides the above six (6) panels, Applicants are welcome to share their experience and contribute to "Other relevant aspects" that are related to Green Building.

If Applicant prefers to contribute only to "Other relevant aspects" out of the above six (6) panels, please provide details of the respective expertise.
