(i) NGO Fee Concession
In response to the demands raised by local charity and non-governmental organisations (NGO), the HKGBC provides BEAM Plus assessment registration fee concession for NGO projects, in support for the wider adoption of green building practices in Hong Kong.
Eligibility Criteria
To enjoy registration fee concession for BEAM Plus assessment, an organisation must fulfill the following criteria:
- It is a charitable institution or trust of a public character which is exempt from tax under Section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance; A list of charitable institutions and trusts of a public character which are exempt from tax under section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance is available on the Internet from https://www.ird.gov.hk/eng/tax/ach_index.htm
- No external subsidy obtained from the government or other public sources of fund to cover the expense of the project to be registered for BEAM Plus assessment*; and
- The project/building shall not be planned for generating commercial income (i.e. only non-commercial building is eligible).
*Any external subsidy that supports the NGO’s general operations will not affect the eligibility to apply for fee concession. The HKGBC determines the eligibility based on the applicant’s exclusive confirmation that it does not receive any public sector subsidy specifically for the project to be registered for BEAM Plus assessment.
Eligible NGOs are entitled to a 50% discount to the BEAM Plus Registration Fee.
NGO Fee Concession is not applicable to BEAM Plus Interiors (BI) v2.0.
Please complete the application form (click to download) and upload the scan copy of the form during BEAM Plus project online registration. The application for NGO Fee Concession will be handled together with the project registration.
(ii) Non-HK projects that are forerunners
Non-HK projects that are the first ones in that geographical region to apply for a BEAM Plus rating may, subject to HKGBC's discretion, enjoy fee concessions. Interested parties are advised to consult the Secretariat at Tel (+852) 3994 8868 or email to [email protected].
