About HKGBC

The Hong Kong Green Building Council strives to promote the creation of green building standards, and sustainable buildings, for a more sustainable Hong Kong.

In 2009, four industry leaders united to establish the HKGBC - the Construction Industry Council (CIC), the Business Environment Council (BEC), the BEAM Society (BEAM) and the Professional Green Building Council (PGBC).

HKGBC is an independent and member-based entity, incorporated as a non-profit company.

To aspire for quality and sustainability at every stage of the building life cycle and embrace these principles as a mark of excellence

Our Mission:
To lead the market transformation to a sustainable built environment in Hong Kong by guiding the development of industry standards, best practices, education, and research in green buildings

Hong Kong Green Building Council Limited ("HKGBC" or "Hong Kong Green Building Council") is a "Company Limited by Guarantee and not Having a Share Capital" incorporated in Hong Kong under the Companies Ordinance. HKGBC, being a charitable institution, is exempt from tax under Section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
